Bill Trampling Youth Organizations With 'LGBT' Hammer Stopped in California Assembly
Thomasson: "Democrat politicians and homosexual activists want to punish religious freedom"

Sacramento, California -- A leading family organization in California is very glad that the Democrats' bill punishing the Boy Scouts and other "public charity youth organizations" that don't totally embrace homosexual, bisexual, or transsexual values or leaders has been shelved for the year.

Today, SB 323, designed to yank the state tax exempt status of non-'LGBT"-supporting youth organizations, was put on the inactive file, a day before the end of the year's regular legislative session.

"Youth organizations were targeted for one reason -- Democrat politicians and homosexual activists want to punish the religious freedom of those who say NO to unnatural, unhealthy sexual role models for children," said Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com, which promotes moral virtues for the common good. "This intolerant bill didn't pass for one reason and one reason alone -- the Assembly Democrats are currently one vote short of a two-thirds majority, the minimum needed to trample the religious and constitutional values of parents and grandparents who love these youth organizations."

SB 323 was so broadly written, it threatened church- and religious-based youth organizations, sports teams, and schools, because the bill did not contain a religious exemption. "This intolerant bill threatened private organizations just for maintaining their faith on matters of conscience," Thomasson said. "This isn't freedom, it's tyranny. These Democrat politicians and homosexual-bisexual-transsexual activists are paradigms of intolerance, when they claim to be the opposite."
