 PROTECT YOUR KIDS: Media Culture

Among the greatest of threats to our children’s well-being is what they are allowed to see. We are not capable of removing or hiding the evil from every situation in which our kids are placed, but there are some circumstances over which we exercise complete control.

Parents must take action to protect the eyes and ears and hearts and minds of their children. Love your children enough to protect them from the negative, mind-altering, behavior-shaping messages they would otherwise get from TV, Internet, movies, video games, and music.

On balance, it’s obvious that good movies and good music inspire and teach. And good video games actually increase brain dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

Here are positive resources that will help you make the right choices for your children:

MovieGuide (films, videos)

Plugged-In (movies, videos, music, TV)

Parents Television Council (TV, movies, Internet)

Internet Safety Guide

Pro-Family Video Games
