PHOTO ALBUM: Real Marriage Tour, February 2006 (Days 1-3)

Campaign for Children and Families' Real Marriage Tour championed marriage rights for a man and a woman in six days of professional news conferences up and down California. CCF's Real Marriage Tour attracted the attention of nearly 50 TV, radio and newspaper outlets reaching nearly two million Californians with the truth.

The 11 news conferences from Sacramento to San Diego countered homosexual activists who were demanding marriage licenses on Valentine's Day. At each stop, the CCF team promoted The Voters' Right to Protect Marriage Initiative, sponsored by VoteYesMarriage.com, which will override the judges and politicians and permanently protect marriage for a man and a woman in California.

These pictures of Day 1, 2 and 3 of the Real Marriage Tour show CCF boldly taking the pro-family, pro-marriage message to TV viewers, radio listeners and newspaper readers in Sacramento, the Bay Area, and the Central Coast.

THE BIG KICK-OFF: On Feb. 9, Campaign for Children and Families kicked off the six-day Real Marriage Tour with a multicultural news conference at California’s State Capitol, featuring white, black, Latino and Asian speakers supporting the VoteYesMarriage.com amendment.

REACHING PEOPLE THROUGH TV AND RADIO: Six TV cameras came to CCF’s Sacramento news conference, including the largest radio station KFBK, to hear our speakers explain how marriage is only between a man and a woman and that’s how it needs to stay.

GROUND-ZERO IN SAN FRANCISCO: Day 2 of CCF’s Real Marriage Tour began in San Francisco where in Feb. 2004 Mayor Gavin Newsom issued 4,000 counterfeit marriage licenses. CCF President Randy Thomasson, who sued Newsom, stands in front of San Francisco City Hall.

THE PEOPLE VS. THE JUDGES: The first news conference of the day was in the heart of San Francisco, directly in front of the California Supreme Court, which is likely to create “same-sex marriage” licenses in 2007 or 2008. But not if the people rise up and support the VoteYesMarriage.com amendment!

RAISING THE STANDARD IN SAN FRANCISCO: CCF’s colorful tour banner said it all.  Beautiful images of brides and grooms showed TV viewers that marriage is naturally for a man and a woman. CCF’s banner was recorded by every TV news station in the Bay Area.

POWERFUL OUTREACH: CCF’s San Francisco Asian speaker, Aimei Chang, attracted Chinese newspapers and reporters. With her husband next to her, Aimei reached KCBS Radio and leading Chinese-language newspapers World Journal and Sing Tao.

HABLAMOS ESPANOL: San Jose was the second stop on Day 2 of CCF's Real Marriage Tour. In front of the San Jose Old Courthouse, our news conference reached more people through TV, radio and newspapers. Spanish-lauguage speakers Oscar and Leticia Cano, with CCF the first three days of the tour, encouraged Latino families to stand up for marriage.  Oscar's voice went nationwide through an interview with CNN en Espanol Radio.

RADIO AND TV IN SAN JOSE: With God’s help, CCF’s principled stand, and Randy Thomasson’s media experience, nearly 50 TV, radio and newspaper outlets attended the Real Marriage California news conferences statewide between Feb. 9 and 15.

REACHING MONTEREY COUNTY: Day 2 of CCF’s Real Marriage Tour ended in Salinas. Here, a reporter is educated about the VoteYesMarriage.com Constitutional Marriage Amendment for a story that appeared in the next day’s paper.

WARRIORS FOR MARRIAGE: After a long, successful second day of media interviews, some members of the Real Marriage Tour team posed for a keepsake photo. From left to right, Oscar and Leticia Cano, Randy Thomasson, KKMC AM 880 manager Lorraine Dick, and tour driver Bob Pegram.

NOT A CIVIL RIGHTS ISSUE: On Day 3 of the Real Marriage Tour in Santa Maria, local black pastors spoke out for the California Marriage Amendment, saying marriage is NOT a civil rights issue.

TOP TV NEWS IN SANTA MARIA: Despite protests from homosexual activists, CCF's Santa Maria news conference reached many people through KSBY, the largest TV news station on the Central Coast.
