PHOTO ALBUM: Real Marriage Tour, February 2006 (Days 4-6)

Campaign for Children and Families' six-day Real Marriage Tour continued on Feb. 13, starting in San Diego and ending two days later in Fresno. Southern California is where CCF reached the most people with the truth. Through radio, newspapers and television, CCF's pro-family, pro-marriage message touched nearly two million people.

These powerful photos of Day 4, 5 and 6 follow CCF's professional, pro-family voice through San Diego, Greater Los Angeles, and the Central Valley.

PROTECT MARRIAGE RIGHTS: On Day 4, CCF’s Real Marriage Tour was outside the San Diego Administrative Center, where “gay marriage” activists would demand marriage licenses 24 hours later. Here, Rev. John Loyd, a former journalist, and his wife, Marjorie, spoke for the majority of people of color who strongly believe marriage rights are only for a man and a woman.

OUR TOUR SPOKESWOMAN: Speaking alongside CCF President Randy Thomasson at the Southern California news conferences was Pam Christian, a public speaker and steadfast defender of family values.

THE OPPOSITION: Hijacking marriage, Valentine’s Day, and now trying to hijack CCF’s San Diego news conference, were homosexual activists who showed up to say two men or two women marrying each other is the same as one man and one woman marrying each other.

THE GREAT COMMUNICATOR: Articulately speaking to the growing number of Latinos was CCF’s Spanish speaker Danny Ramirez, who reached tens of thousands of Hispanic households for marriage through interviews with Univision stations in both San Diego and Palm Desert.

L.A. MEDIA CENTRAL: On Day 5, Valentine’s Day, CCF’s Real Marriage Tour met the media at the Ronald Reagan State Building in downtown Los Angeles. The same day, hundreds of homosexual activists demanded marriage licenses all around the state at county marriage license offices. But CCF demanded "equal time" in the media for families.

RADIO-ACTIVE: CCF’s tour spokeswoman Pam Christian spoke from the heart as a wife and a mother. Her quotes were carried on KFWB, KFI and KNX radio. CCF blanketed L.A. news radio with our pro-marriage message!

BIGGEST MEDIA MARKET IN CALIFORNIA: On Valentine’s Day, CCF’s Real Marriage message was seen on Channels 5, 7, and 11. Also reporting CCF’s message was the Los Angeles Times, Ventura County Star, La Opinion, and the top two Chinese newspapers in L.A.

CHINESE MARRIAGE DEFENDER: Speaking in favor of fully protecting marriage in the California State Constitution was Dr. David Lee, executive director of the Chinese Christian Herald Crusade in Los Angeles.

BAKERSFIELD FAMILY VALUES: Day 6 of CCF’s Real Marriage Tour, was in Bakersfield, Visalia and Fresno, where, in 2000, 3 out of 4 voters demanded marriage be protected when they voted for Prop. 22. On this final tour day, Randy Thomasson would lead news conferences #9, #10, and #11.

SPEAKING THE TRUTH: Speaker after speaker, black, white and Latino, said that God created marriage, the people have affirmed this sacred institution, and that the VoteYesMarriage.com amendment should be passed to override the judges and politicians.

REACHING PEOPLE IN THEIR CARS, HOMES AND WORK PLACES: CCF’s Bakersfield news conference attracted all the English-language TV news stations, was heard on the top two radio news stations, and was featured in El Popular, a leading Spanish-language paper. Randy Thomasson  started the morning with a live in-studio interview on NBC affiliate KGET Ch. 17.

MEDIA BIAS IN VISALIA: CCF's Visalia news conference, the tour's smallest venue, attracted the Visalia Times-Delta. However, due to media bias in upper management, the story, although written and teased on the newspaper's website, was never published and therefore never seen by Tulare County readers!

REACHING FRESNO: Marking a successful end to our six-day tour, all of Fresno’s TV news stations, including Spanish-speaking Univision and the newspaper Vida en el Valle, came to hear CCF speak about real marriage!

STANDING UP FOR MARRIAGE: Speaking in Fresno were (left to right) Daniel Soleto, president of the Hispanic Southern Baptist Fellowship of California and a VoteYesMarriage.com endorser, Pastor Vincent Chen, and Pastor David Chin.

MARRIAGE HEADQUARTERS: It felt good reclaiming ground for marriage, since just the day before, homosexual activists had lined up to demand marriage licenses from the Fresno County Clerk’s office, the site of CCF’s news conference.

CONFUSION ON THE LEFT: It's sad that gay activists were so willing to crash CCF’s Fresno news conference. Yet they are so unwilling to tolerate the people’s vote on marriage or consider the physical and reproductive differences between a man and a woman, which create a perfect union in marriage. Fortunately, the majority of Californians clearly understand the truth: marriage is only for a man and a woman, and nothing is equal to marriage.

TIRED BUT HAPPY: Reaching nearly two million people with the truth about marriage put a big smile on our faces. CCF President Randy Thomasson and tour driver Bob Pegram at the Fresno airport, each ready to head home knowing that, with the help of God and many people along the way, CCF's Real Marriage Tour was a job well done!
