For the protection of rights of our children and family, the leaders of various ethnic communities have jointly announced a declaration:
Established in Sacramento, the capital of California, Campaign for Children and Families (CCF), will travel to 15 major cities from 2/14 to 2/19, beginning from the State Capital to San Diego, to proclaim the unprecedented crisis facing traditional marriage, encourage California voters to stand up to protect the existing marriage system, demand legally from the government to respect the opinion of voters, and urge not to disregard a democratic system and twist the spirit of law-making, which will lead to another bigger wave of disastrous blow to traditional marriage and constitutional system.
Randy Thomason is the president of this organization (Campaign for Children and Families), which organizes this series of marriage rallies consisting of leaders of various ethnic communities, including Caucasians, Africans, Hispanics, and Asians. The group makes public announcement on traditional marriage to hundreds of mainstream and minority media, including newspapers and broadcasting stations, demanding all government officials and representatives to respect the will of the voters and give the legislative back to the hands of the voters.
The Asian representative in the rally Mr. Spark Gau expressed that after the public voting of Proposition 22 in 2000, an average of 61% of all ethnic groups in California (White 58%, Black 62%, Latino 65%, Asian 59%) agreed that the a legal marriage should be between one man and one woman, and does not include that between the same sex. The decision was made by a majority of the voters in California.
However, on December 16, 2004, several democratic representatives proposed Assembly Bill 19 (AB 19) and deliberately and quietly bypassed the decision made by the voters, and tried to change the traditional marriage from "between one man and one woman" to between "two persons," and can be called a legislation to legalize same sex marriage.
If AB 19 is passed, it will have the following long-lasting effect:
- Same sex couple can legally marry, and apply for California marriage certificate.
- Same sex couple can legally adopt children (Children will only have the same sex parents)
- Same sex education will be added to the curriculum in Public School grade five
- Same sex couple will demand equal rights in hiring, claiming social security, and family assistance as a traditionally married couple
- All objections, rejections, or any words or discussion not to support same sex marriage will be considered as "hate crimes" or "discrimination."
- Change the democratic system from "bottom-up" to "top-down," i.e. for the benefits of a few individuals the wishes of the majority are sacrificed. Legislation is created against the will of the common public, which brings the entire legal system to unprecedented risks.
All ethnic groups have the same proclamation as follows:
- Homosexual is against the human nature, and cannot be legalized; moreover, homosexual cannot reproduce the next generation, which equals the extinction of human race.
- Single parent has many difficulties; same sex parents will pose severe confusion on the children's physical and psychological growth, and such confusion in sexual orientation will create even severe psychological damage.
- The curriculum built into the public school will render the young children with no choice of exposing to homosexuality.
- From the health perspective, from 1980 over 15,000 people died from AIDS just in San Francisco, and in USA, over 50% of those contracted AIDS are homosexuals. According to the investigation from the Public Health of San Francisco, homosexual males have an average life span 20 years fewer than those who are not.
- To protect traditional marriage and our children, they request all California voters to pick up the phone immediately, call their local assembly member, object to AB 19, and demand its abolishment. For detail please visit CCF's website at www.savecalifornia.com or www.saveamerica.net.
