Watch CCF on TV: OBGYNs to peddle "morning-after pill"

On May 8, CCF President Randy Thomasson was on KCRA Channel 3, the top-rated TV newscast in Sacramento. Thomasson exposed how the "morning-after pill" or "Plan B" promoted by the nation's leading OGBYN group actually harms teenage girls and young women. It's another example of CCF reaching people with the truth.

Transscript of the KCRA-TV news story on the "morning-after" pill

TV ANCHOR: Doctors from the nation’s largest OBGYN group want women of all ages to stock up on emergency contraception just in case they need it in the future.

KATHARYN MCCLEARN, SACRAMENTO PLANNED PARENTHOOD: Just like having condoms available, even if you’re abstaining from sex, it’s a good idea to have them handy for yourself.

TV ANCHOR: The group’s “Accidents Happen” campaign is a push to get doctors to explain to women what options are available. But conservatives say pushing Plan B on women promotes unsafe sexual activity and doesn’t tell them about the risks involved with the drug.

CCF PRESIDENT RANDY THOMASSON: That teaches kids, ‘Hey, if I’m not having sex as a teenager, something must be wrong with me.’ That’s a real bad message to send to kids. We’re basically giving them sexually-transmitted diseases, broken hearts, and unplanned pregnancies before they’re 18.

TV ANCHOR: Taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex, Plan B can prevent pregnancy. Pharmacies in California can sell Plan B over the counter already.
